We had a fantastic week! In Math, we worked on word problems in multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division. We learned about the Northeast region in Social Studies. We learned about potential and kinetic energy in Science. In Health, we discussed digestion and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle by balancing eating and working out. We continued to read Skinnybones in Reading and examined point of view and the interactions between characters. We began planning our Realistic Fiction pieces in Writing. We created characters and started to develop our setting. We also practiced writing compound sentences with conjunctions in Word Study.
Outside of class, we had fun, too! We went to the Discovery Lab on Monday and Mr. Corcoran showed us how to make an open and a closed circuit. We worked on a song in Music and played on the xylophones. We took a soccer dribbling test in Physical Education. We practiced reading and writing numbers in Spanish. In Art, we worked on depth by making pumpkins. We are also very excited to see the author, Dan Gutman, who is visiting today!
Love,
